On the Other Side

You know that scene from Signs where Mel Gibson goes to the doctor's house and finds an alien trapped in the pantry?

Well imagine that every time you go into the bathroom.

What is even more creepy is when Washoo busts the door open when I am taking a shower. You are never as vulnerable as when you are naked in the shower. It isn't as though she gently pulls the door open and slides in. She pulls it open with the might of a 200 lbs. man and meows at the top of her lungs, jumping onto the sink to bat at my shower curtain.

My screams of terror have been audible at times.

Heaven forbid I have a moment to myself.

Sexy Black -- A Benefit

Virtually Home Chicago will be hosting a benefit this Saturday at Gold Bar to raise awareness for all the black kitties (and doggies) who are neglected based on their dark fur.

Apparently black animals are discriminated against as well. Black cats and dogs have the lowest adoption rate and highest euthanasia rate. I had no idea!

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this event but I wanted to help spread the word -- $20 donation at the door, which includes a drink of choice (Gold Bar has great beer on tap) and sandwiches. Gold Bar is located at 1755 W. Division St. in Chicago. The event is from 7-10pm this Saturday, February 26th.

Check out http://virtuallyhomechicago.org/ for more info.

Cat Burglar

I don't think the problem with this cat is that it is a thief. I think that it is a hoarder. Look at all the useless stuff the cat collected. Mateo doesn't need that many pairs of gloves or bathing suits. Two pair is more than enough.

Next on A&E's Hoarders . . .

Happy Valentine's Day

For some reason the postal route from Nashville to Chicago takes about 2 extra weeks to deliver mail. To ensure I got my Valentine's Day card on time, my mom sent it several weeks early and from Iowa.

This may be too much information, but I sometimes read my mail in the bathroom when I get home. Good thing I was there because I would have peed my pants if I had been anywhere else.

Cat Who Must Not Be Named

I love Harry Potter. I love cats. I love it even more when these to loves meet.

Voldemort Cat!!

This image comes to us from Unique Daily via Buzzfeed.

And like Tom Riddle, this cat has a tragic history. The poor kitty had its ears and nose removed as part of its treatment for skin cancer. :(

On last night's Colbert Report, Steven Colbert criticized the use of psychic animals to predict the outcomes of sports events and suggested they be used to predict the outcomes of real world conflicts. Christiane Aman-Purr was brought out to predict the outcome of the turmoil in Egypt. The choices: Democratic Uprising and Islamic Strong Hold.

As I predicted, Christiane Aman-Purr behaved like a cat, completely indifferent to what is going on in the world.
